Sri Lankan Tamils may not be Indian citizens but are etinic Indians and that is what their problem is and it is the problem in several other places like Malasiya, Fiji, Trinidad etc. these people are still called Indians in these countries and being discriminated. India being a powerful nation should protect the rights of ethnic Indians, but it doesn't....most or all of us know the reasons, it is being ruled by a lame duck govt. who cannot protect citizens living within the Indian boundries, so even if they try to interfere in other countries affairs, I'm sure even a smal coutry like Sri Lanka has guts to say Shoooo!!!! to our foreign Minister. India does not have any respect whatsoever in the world politics now, whatever was earned during the NDA govt. is all lost, nobody sees India with any respect any more, so atleast in my mind I know the answer why India is turning a blind eye towards the killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka & blatant Human Rights murder by a tiniest neighbor

Until the last generation of politicians are out of the indian political system, nothing is going to change when it comes to the image or pride of India. Just because one guy is pointing out fraud in H1b he is not anti immigrant. Can you call entire congress is anti immigrant just for passing TARP restriction unanimously? But still we are optimistic of getting support from congress for EB reform. 99% of H1bs will not be impacted by this memo if that is implemented properly. For example even if USCIS does not approve h1b because he is having multiple layers of H1b still that position will be open and that can be filled by H1b person who is placed directly. The person who impacted by this memo will suffer a few weeks and he will find another job. Basically it will not impact H1b program or H1b persons. Even after the memo many H1bs were approved with third party consulting. Can you tell any denial based on the memo? But I am seeing many RFEs for H1b applications without client letter. That is normal and no one complaints about that

I am estimating around 75K EB2 AOS approvals this year. Please check my analysis here. The analysis is based on statistics, testimonies, and spill over from FB to EB as estimated by Ron Gother. The analysis was couple of months old. I believe it still stands.

I know that many applied on March 05 just the week before Perm was going to start through the normal process and not RIR. I remember there was a way that they could abandon that application and apply thorugh the PERM process but keep their date. I know a friend of mine who did it. All these numbers suggested above makes sense only after we pass March 05.

Collin Powell incident is America's problem. Even after the civil rights movement and equality to Blacks, they are still having discrimination. Just ask Black people in America and how they feel in their daily life.
So according to you by coming to America we should forget India because you will call us traitor? Have you heard how Jews in America are so strong and care for Israel even after becoming US citizens?
The fact is Indians are responsible for their own problems and greencard woes. They want to live in this sorry state and blame everyone else around them except themselves. They do not have any pride in their roots and thus flee their own country. They do not come to this country for betterment of their skills, education and experience but because they want to flee the country. There maybe exceptions but this is what I have seen in Indians who are on H1B or who have become US Citizens.
There could be several reasons for people coming here. But most and primary reason is making some quick money and returning back. And a good portion of that money goes back to our motherland to prosper. People didn't flee the country. They flew out of the country because their skills are valued more elsewhere - its simple demand supply economics that made/makes our skills more valued outside - I don't want to eloborate more and hurt someone which definitely wasn't the intention.
IF we are after the GC, its purely for the mobility and assurity it provides and not for the path to citizenship. Though most of them want to return back, we still want the GC so we call the shots and not the INS. Long story short, no one is a traitor. They are just common 'smart' people - yah, they are common from the land we come from.

The calculation done by Bharatpremi seems to have flawed while calculating spill-over. Spill-over is first by preference and then by country. That is how till VB of August 2009, you see ROW EB1/2 was current and ROW EB3 was U and EB2I was in 2003.
Now, considering spill-over by preference first, the following could be a conservative analysis:
I am trying to see if EB2I can cross Dec 2006 by end of FY2010. So, we will consider only those cases that might be placed before EB2I PD as Dec 2006.
Consider all the pending EB(1+2+4+5) cases reported so far for ROW, China, Mexico and Phil and add it to pending EB(1+2+4+5) cases for India till end of 2006. The number is around 68000.
Assumption (the numbers for FY 2010 for cases that might be placed before an EB2I case with PD Dec 2006) -
- All EB4/5 cases till end of 2010 FY - 2000
- ROW, Mexico, Phil EB1/2 - 8000
- EB1 I/C - 1000
- The new cases from EB2C (PD Sep 2009 onwards) will not be placed before EB2I PD Dec 2006

This rule will be disaster for my life, it is leaving me no option other than to go home if H1B not get extended. I have been here in US for last 7 years and own a house, I do have Kids US citizens. I am getting my H1b extenstion year by year since my labour is approved and I-140 is pending.

I cannot think of any one good leader left in india. not one who can rise above self-interest and narrow mentality. Can you imagine any one of the so called leaders that was mentioned in this list leading the nation, and not be a laughing stock? remember deva gowda at davos...made a mockery of India there. Dear Senator,
After having spent thousands of dollars in legal counsel, medical tests, documentations, affidavits and many days of hurried preparation to file adjustment of status (AOS) for my green card application, USCIS has pulled a fast one me and the legal high skilled community.
On June 13th 2007, Department Of State indicated visa availability for all applicants starting July 1st causing thousands of prospective legal high skilled immigrants to prepare their applications only to be surprised on the very first day (July 2nd) with rejections due to apparent exhaustion of existing visas.
This unprecented and possibly illegal action on part of USCIS, has left high skilled immigrants like myself in a limbo. We are wondering what we have done to be wronged in this way. I am a law abiding, tax paying resident contributing to the economy.
Please help us in overcoming this situation. We definetly do not deserve such treatment for having followed the law in the land of opportunity on the eve of independence day.

are you sure that 5882 is dead ??? in that case, I agree lets do this on a major scale ...we don't have to say accurately how many people have not bought the house ...lets say 80% of legal high paying immigrants are not buying because they don't have a GC ..(I did not read the prev threads in detail ..but I guess we need to include everyone ..and not just those who have not yet taken the plunge ..as that is more realistic) ....
I would suggest to everyone to pass this information to your freinds too. We need to do it on massive way.

I would suggest to everyone to pass this information to your freinds too. We need to do it on massive way.
Sending an email is not going to create any problem just a 2-3 minutes job.
I am sending to all my 40-60 friends.
