IV has been discussing about the possibility of one for two solution (partial). The idea is to request congress to exempt EB applicants & their dependents from numerical limits of the Immigrant visas, if they buy a home. It is my belief that market sentiment is the most important thing in any financial market(s) and the housing prospects look pretty bleak. There are lot of members in the EB community that have NOT bought their own home, even though they could afford one because of the uncertainty with EB GC. IV's idea is to bridge the financial committees and judiciary committees in the House/Senate and see if corresponding Chairman/Ranking members are willing to listen. Things are moving so fast with the 700bn USD bail out plan and we will NOT have time to do things the normal way, through our counsel. We have to present this idea to the corresponding staff members of key members of congress (see list below) and see if this gets traction now or going forward.
Are there any influential members in either house that are also pro-EB that we are especially targeting? I mean since House and Senate is debating on the bailout plan now and with McCain going back to DC to reach some agreement, there will be different ideas that can be included in the bailout, if we can get our idea across a few influential and sympathetic Representatives, they might come up with some proposal that will include this. I am sure Core is working with our lobbyists on this so I urge everyone to please send out emails.

1. Do we need get our education evaluation done, i am from india with Bsc +Msc(physic) +PGDCA.Will they

of paystubs so that it looks complete, appointment letter, W2 forms.
3. Bank statements
4.Mariage certificate + Birth related documents (notarized)

Per country limit applies to every country in exactly the same way. It doesn't discriminate between Chad or China. So, how is it discrimination? And think about it- in Olympics soccer/basketball every country can send only one team. Should China and India be allowed to send more teams since they have a larger population? We should try to increase the number of GCs.
Do not evade the question, is it okay to limit the number of gold medals per country to 7% of all? Talk about athletics or swimming, not soccer. Do you believe there are "too many" swimmers from Australia or the USA in every Olympics? It just does not seem right... the quota system kills competitive spirit.

The question doesn't arise because he is SRK or APJ or in future Manmohan singh. The point is does it take TWO HOURS to find the identity of the person. How did you feel when you were questioned for an hour at the POE even after staying here for 9 years and stay in US legally and paying taxes etc.. can't they have better immigration procedures in place to identify legal from illegal (LIKE biometric finger printing, etc). They have this sophisticated computer information network.. if you give your SSN they can find any data they want.. about your employer, about your pay roll, your taxes etc.. then why this delay at POE to idenfity geniune people from entering US. These actions look totally racist to me. Don't you think these (US) people know how to improve this system.. they can but there is no will to do so.. Just look at priority dates how they swing +5 years to -5 years every year (2000 to 2005). It looks like someone just picks any year between 2000 to 2005 based on his mood. Can't this developed country have a software system to predict visa number availability or to predict how the dates should advance and by how much... this is want really sucks.. this so called developed country doesn't have a system in place for immigration issues.. Just look at the people who got their green cards who's priority dates were 2006 and people from 2002 or 2003 are still waiting.. how can their system (software) allow people with older dates to wait while someone with PD 2006 get their GC.. Things can be better managed and controlled with total transperancy but there is no WILL to do so.. i am not sure if IV can play any role in pushing some reforms to have a better system in place. There was another thread discussing about IO officers visting to employee office to find geniune applications and for more details.. this is simple waste of money and resources with SSN can give you almost 90% of the details.... overall the frustration is about the System and not about SRK or APJ.

Yes I believe we have a case.
The EB immigration system has become a joke where we are fighting for a pittance of this or that quota.
The current situation is a violation of human dignity of young and skilled american workforce.
It is a violation of liberty of tax paying law abiding residents.
It is very unamerican as it closes off opportunities for some of the brightest people in the world.
Shame on America that this exploitation exists in this day and age in this country.

I got the below numbers from the PERM FDLC site for the applications filed in 2005 and approved in different years of 2005,6,7,8
2005 India 1353 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2005)
2006 India 3888 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2006)
2007 India 60 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2007)
2008 India 10 (filed in 2005 and approved in 2008)
Total 5311
5311 for both EB1-5 : So taking 50% for EB2I - 2655
GC : 2655*2.5 = 6637 ~ 6500 (considering lucky 2008 Aug-Sep approvals, 2009 Sept)

Hello Sir,
I am in a process of getting name change for my wife on pending I485. This is because her first name is given as 'No Name Given' by USCIS on the I485 file, EAD and A.P. As she did not have first name in passport.
We recently got her name change on passport by adding my(husbands name) as SURNAME. Now we want to refelect this change on EAD and 485.
Sir, can you please let me know the process of amendment to get name change on the file. What applicaton do I need to fill, and what documents should i send with the form. Can I do it on my own or do i have to go thru a lawyer.

You will have to draft a letter and submit all documents which you submitted for making the change on the passport. If you want assistance you can get in touch with me. These documents will include your marriage certificate, copy of your passport etc.

Given the current political climate on immigration I think that we will be in a check mate position (on the loosing end) if we pursue that road.
The anti's would be all over us as soon as we filed in federal district court probably even before a hearing, and definitely after a hearing. If we lost in lower courts the Supreme Court would probably refuse to hear the appeal, in the mean time we'd have just stirred up the anti's hornets nest against us, just as much if not worse than against the illegals.
Asking Congress to make small changes in the existing laws annoys the anti's. Telling them or forcing them to wholesale rewrite their laws would make us public enemy #1. We would be lucky to have more than a handful of law makers willing to stand up for us. It would kill off all lobbying ability.

Think of Supreme court case as picking a fist fight, in which we are badly out numbered.
Once you have started a fist fight it is much harder to negotiate, especially from a loosing position.

In the case of India, recent estimates of INDIAN (BLACK) MONEY outside India (in Countries like SWITZERLAND, )reached Rs.7.5 Million Crores (About US$1,500 Billion). Laying hands on this (Black) money is not in the power of the Indian Government.
Black Money circulating inside India appears to be no lesser in quantity than the outside component mentioned above.
Black money and corruption that can spread into the hitherto respected institutions like Judiciary, the Army, and the Bureaucracy in India may, one day, by moral degradation lead to a failed state. Black Money lends free access to the Criminal, Antinational, and Antisocial elements going beyond the control of the laws in place.
To-day’s civilized world has accepted the phenomenon of hiding money in Swiss Banks as “NOT ILLEGAL” obviously because the CREAM OF SOCIETY in the world owns that money. ……..
Government of India is not able to help honest, sincere tax payers particularly middle class families in the matter of providing quality Education, Healthcare for their families at reasonable cost. Education and Medical have become Biggest Money spinning businesses in India now. One has to shell out Rs. 30 to 50 Lakhs for a MBBS seat and about Rs. 5 to Rs.10 Lakhs for an Engineering seat in good colleges. How can middle class people can pay this money?. They are deprived of good education though, they pay taxes honestly and sincerely to government. It is really unfortunate. For people who have block money, these things do not matter
If you have to do business in India, IN ADDITION TO ALL THE OFFICIAL TAXES MENTIONED, LOT OF BRIBES ARE TO BE GIVEN ALMOST TO EVERY DEPARTMENT IN CITY (CORPORATION), STATE (PROVINCE), AND ALSO CENTRAL GOVERNMENTS. Some examples are: Police, Municipal officials, Electricity depat.officials, weights& measures inspector, Rowdies & Goondas, Political contributions, Subscriptions/Donations to RELIGIOUS GURUS ETC.
ALL MOST ALL THE CORRUPT OFFICIALS ARE CALLLED "PARTNERS IN BUSINESS WITHOUT CAPITAL AND COMMITMENT BUT FORCEBLY TAKE A PART OF PROFITS OF BUSINESS".

If you have to run a big company, you have to bribe many more officials. For some type of officials, WHO DO NOT TAKE CASH AS BRIBE, "GIFTS" ARE BEING GIVEN (GOLD, DRY FRUITS, VEHICLE DROPS, GUEST HOUSES ETC.) ON VARIOUS OCCATIONS, FESTIVALS ETC. ANY THING CAN BE DONE EVEN IN TIRUMALA TEMPLE, EDUCAIONAL INSTITUTIONS, MEDICAL PROFESSION WHICH ARE CONSIDERED TO BE HOLY PROFESSIONS.
THE AMOUNT TO BE GIVEN AS "BRIBE" IN BURIAL YARD(S) IN INDIA, WHEN A PERSON DIE, FOR BURNING THE BODY, FOR GETTING DEATH CERTIFICATE, (THESE ARE IN ADDITION TO OFFICIAL FEES PAID TO MUNICIPALIIES FOR BURNING THE BODY FOR FIRE WOOD ETC.). The amount to be spend after death in India now comes to Lakhs of Rupees for doing all types of cermonies, merging ashes in Ganga at Varanasi and other holy places, giving gifts/charities to pandits, giving advertisements in newspapers, arranging feasts BHOJANALU to thousands of people (so called relatives), friends. This is in addition to LARGE SUMS OF MONEY PAID TO DOCTORS FOR SO CALLED CURING OF SICKNESS.
In many cases, many middle class people becomes BEGGERS/PAUPERS after getting into hospitals, nursing homes etc. just before dyeing.

You think you are here because of your merit. It is not my friend. My relative, who is a Doctor came here in 1940's and did higher studies, have to return back to India, because at that time USA will not give permanent residency to Indian citizens. Only whites will get GC during that period.
Only after 1965 GC is offereed to every one irrespective of color.

He has mistrusted us. I do remember throwing his wiket by giving simple catch on mid-on/off and getting run out others ! When CBI raided his home, they found 3 -4 crore of watches in his jwell box. Wonder how much money he might have made with working top bookies ? He/Sanjay Dutt and other like them know that it might come back anytime so they are getting prepared politically.

India Should go election reforms first. All these bad politicians are coming because of voters without responsibility are voting. For some 500Rs is like one weeks ration. So no wander if they sell this commodity. So for the voters we should put the qualifications like paying the taxes are having something like 10 acre of Land or certain education requirement. So that Politicians cannot bribe the voters easily. Also that would stop the announcement like free TV free Laptop. Like US during freedom war no representation no tax. In India it should be no tax no vote. That way we can curb pompous politicians.

I am not with Amway or Quixtar but I think the folks with Amway/Quixtar are under represented on this thread and it's not fair :-)

You guys are all wasting your free time bitching on this thread where as we are spending all our free time growing our business. We will retire early as we would make $xxxx/month for nothing when we turn 40 and dont need to work anymore where as all you guys bitching about Amway / Quixtar will still be working hard at your jobs till 60.

This is not fair and good idea. what about people waiting in line for years and invested their money elsewhere because of this green card delays or those who do not have enough money and job in this market situation. All of the sudden you are brining this idea. This is not fair. This is kind of buying green card. There is a investment based green card category available for that. I request you to go through that channel if you are rich. Not all employment based green card seekers are rich. Please keep that in mind.
